Privacy Policy

What we collect

• ZIP codes you enter — used only to look up your public water system in EPA records.
• Your email address — only if you choose to receive your result or buy the decoded report. Used to deliver your result, your receipt, and (only until you opt out) occasional follow-up emails about your water.
• Order details — if you buy the $19 report: what you bought, when, and the ZIP/water system it covers. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your card number.

We do not collect your name, address, or precise location. There are no accounts and no passwords.

What we don't do

• We never sell your personal information.
• We never share your email with advertisers or data brokers.
• We don't run third-party ad trackers on this site.

Cookies

We use minimal, functional storage only: remembering your last checked ZIP on your own device and keeping the site working offline. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data sources

Water-system and violation data comes from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's public drinking-water records (SDWIS / Envirofacts), which are public information. We show the "data as of" date with every verdict.

Emails and unsubscribing

Every email we send — free results, receipts, follow-ups — includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Clicking it stops all marketing emails from PureTap immediately, and we keep a do-not-mail record so you stay unsubscribed. Transactional emails tied to a purchase you made (like your receipt and report link) are not marketing and can't be unsubscribed from, but you won't get anything else.

Deletion

Want your data deleted? Email info@mehyar.us from the address you used, with the subject "Delete my data", and we'll remove your email and associated records within 30 days.

Children

PureTap is built for parents, but the site itself isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
